Web Mail, What is it?, What is it good for?

Another lovely day. Overcast but not hot or cold. 🙂 I hope you all had a great weekend.
Today I thought I would discuss web mail. So just what is it? Two classic examples are Hotmail and Gmail. Web mail is email accessed via a browser like internet explorer or Mozilla Firefox or Google chrome and many others. Web mail can be a handy thing to have. It gives you the ability to check your email from almost any device with an internet connection anywhere in the world. There are some disadvantages though. Particularly if you have your own domain name. One being that with any web mail you are very limited when it comes to organising your emails. Another is the limitation as to how much you can actually store if you are only accessing your email via web mail. One very important consideration is access to your email if you dont have internet. Many people need to reference old emails over and over again. Email downloaded to your machine using an email program will be on your machine regardless of your internet connection. This means you can always access it and also importantly back it up.
So there is some food for thought.
Have a Great day everyone.
